I love poetry with a passion. I love to read it as well as write it, which is the purpose of this blog. I will be sharing thoughts about some of my favorite poems and poets, as well as thoughts about the world and the beauty in it.

A little bit of backstory

Ever since I was a child learning to read, I have loved books. As I have grown older though, I have grown a particular fondness for poems and lyrics. Poetry is such a unique language of expression, and the variance and differences of portrayal and perspective are fascinating.

Whether it be woven together by rhyme, or clever word play, the rhythm always seems to work its way into emotion. A story expressed like a song.

Nature, love, joy, laughter, life. So many things to write about. So many emotions to enact. So many thoughts, words, and feelings embodied on a page. Sometimes I wonder at a poet's creativity. Their poems astonishing, plucking a tune from my heartstrings.

Where in this world can I bring such beautiful thoughts?

Well, here to begin.

My goal for this blog

I hope that this blog not only inspires you to fall into the world of reading beautiful prose, but also that I can share words of my own with you. I aspire to be an author someday, and am preparing to publish books of my own, many of which will be poetry. I hope my daily thoughts on little joys and how I see the world around me, and the worlds written into the books that surround us, enable you to be creative. To see the world through a different lens. Most of all, I hope you can all love life a little bit more.
