Some people love cloudy and rainy days, others find them dark and depressing. I don't mind the rain, for without it the flowers dare not grow and the grass becomes dust and withers underneath your bare feet.
I find rainy days are the best days to curl up with a book and a hot teacup, with a sweater or a blanket. They also seem to be when I write the most insightful pieces.
Rain is such a calm wonder, when it is a gentle rain, that is. I don't mean the loud, thundering eruption of the sky, but the soft rain that you can hear patter on the roof or over your window glass. It's as if the sky gets too heavy and has to have a breath of peace to cleanse the air.
I would rather the sky have tears, then for it to withhold its sorrow, and leave the world in drought and despair.
It's okay to cry when there's too much on your mind -
The clouds rain too when things get heavy.
-Amina Mehmood
May the flowers remind us why the rain was so necessary.

The beauty of rain,
it's like a symphony in the sky.
Pounding drums on my roof,
serenades on my windows.
An angelic ballet of raindrops
dancing around my garden.
A spectacle I could witness
for the rest of my days.

When it rains,
The world softens
Around the edges;
Streets and
Sidewalks become
A liquid mirror
Onto which lights
And colors bleed.
When it rains,
Everything
Becomes
Beautiful...
For a while.
-John Mark Green
In time of silver rain
The earth puts forth new life again.
Green grasses grow
And flowers lift their heads,
And over all the plain
The wonder spreads.
Of Life,
Of Life,
Of Life,
In time of silver rain
The butterflies lift silken wings
To catch a rainbow cry
And trees put forth new leaves to sing
In joy beneath the sky
As down the roadways
Passing boys and girls
Go singing too
In time of silver rain when spring
And life
Are new.
-Langston Hughes
Rain never lasts forever, and when it is done, the earth is refreshed, and the sky paints a beautiful portrait promise that at some point the rain will end.
