The sun rises and sleep no longer satisfies. I wander round the house, baking in my blankets wondering what the day will bring. A song sung by a blue jay, as the dew begins to dry. A calmness settles over the landscape, with light arrayed across the sky.
Trading blanket for coat, I escape to the outdoors. The cool air in my lungs, that the dragonflies soar, calms my spirit and much more.
I walk barefoot on the rocks, along the stream below my house. Across the field my toes twitch, among the grass and twigs. I pick dandelions that scatter amongst the wind. The wishes I wonder, if others will discover.
The clouds gather close and start to shadow me, so I gather my flowers and I fall fast asleep. The rain awakens me, and I sit up and shiver. Now with a chill, I arise, and I quiver.
I make my way home to the warmth it portrays, and I realize that home is as a warm embrace.
For here I am safe, and I belong someplace. That being worth a smile, I open my window, make some tea, and just be.
